Описание: Why are surgical errors called “never events?” Because they are never supposed to happen - but they do. Mayo Clinic surgeon Dr. Juliane Bingener discusses a study in which Mayo researchers identified 69 never events among 1.5 million physically invasive procedures performed over five years and chronicled in minute detail why each occurred. They coded human behaviors involved and discovered that 628 distinct human factors contributed to the errors overall: four to nine per event. The study results are published in the journal Surgery.
