Hello all,
Welcome to another Victorian regional trains video. This time we head to the recently opened Cobblebank station to capture some moments from the first day of services through the station.
Cobblebank station is located on the Ballarat/Wendouree (Serviceton) line between Melton and Rockbank stations. It was originally meant to be called Toolern Station but was renamed out of respect for the station's location.
The town of Cobblebank is a new residential area due to the ever-growing population, about 35km from the CBD.
The station was constructed under the Ballarat line rail revival project with services commencing on December 2nd, 2019.
The Ballarat Rail Revival is a project which ensures that the Ballarat line meets modern standards of operation. The first part of the project was the duplication of the rail lines between Caroline Springs and Melton, and the addition of a second platform at Bacchus Marsh.
With a new timetable from December 1st, this sees trains operate to a half-hour frequency out of Melton with half running as express services to Ballarat/Wendouree, and the other half stopping all stations to Bacchus Marsh.

This video captures the services between 10:30am and 12:30pm on its first day of operation.
The only type of train captured in this video is V/Line's Velocity DMU.
