Wendi Adelson is a lawyer, writer, mother, and daughter. However, she is famously known for being Dan Markel's ex-wife, with whom she had a nasty divorce with, and Charlie Adelson's sister. Charlie Adelson went on trial in early November 2023 for the murder, conspiracy, and solicitation; He was found guilty on all three counts. Many presume that Wendi Adelson had involvement in the murder of her husband.

Dan Markel was murdered in July of 2014. It took investigators almost two years to follow the evidence and to identify the suspects. By 2016, there were two suspects who carried out the hit - Luis Rivera and shooter Sigfredo Garcia. Luis was in federal prison on unrelated charges. Investigators determined that the murder was connected to Dan Markel's divorce and suspected that one or more people in his ex-wife's family ordered the hit. Katherine Magbanua was convicted in 2022. Charlie Adelson was convicted in 2023. Donna was arrested in late 2023, and her trial will be next.
