For a brief stint in the spring of 2023, American commercial broadcast TV network 'The CW' took pause from their usual output of niche sports programming, spinoffs from the DC universe and magic based light entertainment shows, to birth a brave new comedy format. A comedy format that was somehow lots of different comedy formats smashed into one big funny Frankenstein's monster. Wordplay games, embarrassing anecdotes, sexual wordplay games, embarrassing sexual anecdotes, questions from the audience, pick up lines (not to the audience) and even more. It was called The Great American Joke Off, and we joked ourselves off until we could gag no more.
Here is a selection of highlights from my time on the show. 8 episodes. 4 outfits, owing to the nature of how they were edited. One hell of a summer (the filming was in the summer prior to the broadcast).
