1971 Citroen DS21 Safari Station wagon

Описание: Immaculate throughout inside and out and under and over, 2.1 litre dependable and durable motor, rare 5 speed on the column and sought after "safari" station wagon model - this is a reliable, daily driver, well maintained - imported to Brisbane from Auckland so this is a French built car and not assembled in Heidelberg, Melbourne. Apologies for the wait at approx 1:50 for 20 seconds after starting vehicle to wait for 2500psi hydraulic fluid to build up to raise the car ready for driving - this had to be shown on this clip - the LHM fluid suspension system in the backbone of these vehicles creating the regulated suspension (this vehicle does not run any shock absorbers with metal coil of leaf springs) as well as the brake, clutch and power steering boost assist. Nitrogen gas regulators distribute the fluid so efficiently to where it is needed to such an extent that a wheel can be removed without a jack and the car even driven on 3 wheels. Design included a fibreglass roof and aluminium bonnet and a front track wider than the rear for aerodynamics and high beam headlights that mechanically move left to right with the steering wheel. The seating in this vehicle is like watching a movie in gold class and with the floating suspension one arrives very refreshed at conclusion of a long highway road trip. This model known as the Deesse (french for Goddess) were made from 1955 to 1975 and when they arrived on the market they were like nothing else and comparing to other cars on the road at the time it was like they arrived from the moon and were designed with the hydraulic suspension to cope with the still poor condition of roads in France post WW2. The French have made some wacky and joyous cars especially during this period and this vehicle is a classic example of their "out of left field" ingenuity and innovation.
