Here are all the carved pieces I made for the NC Potters Conference.
These wheel thrown pieces are all hand carved on Laguna #16 porcelain.
I used a wax resist technique and carved with Diamond Core Tools L3 Stylus then added Speedball Royal Blue underglaze for the inlay. After bisque firing I colored them with Colors for Earth Color Concentrates, which are a translucent underglaze.
I glazed the inside with my Blue Poppy celadon (you can get it from Clayscapes Pottery) and the outside with clear 2167. They were fired to cone 5 on medium speed with a 1 hour preheat and 15 minute hold.
