The “Four-Wheel Steering and Four-Wheel Drive” robot chassis (also known as the “4WD-4WS” chassis, meaning four-wheel drive + four-wheel steering) is a high-performance mobile robot chassis structure equipped with four wheels. Each wheel can be independently driven (four-wheel drive) and independently steered (four-wheel steering). This chassis can mount various sensors and equipment such as LiDAR and robotic arms, effectively tackling challenges posed by complex terrains in scenarios like industrial inspection, disaster relief, agricultural production, and transportation.
Four-Wheel Independent Drive (4WD)
Each wheel is equipped with an independent motor (typically a brushless DC motor or servo motor), enabling independent control of speed and torque.
This achieves multiple motion modes including differential steering, on-the-spot turning, diagonal movement, and lateral shifting.
Four-Wheel Independent Steering (4WS)
Each wheel features an independent steering servo or motor to control its deflection angle (typically ±90° or greater).
By coordinating the steering angles of all four wheels, diverse motion trajectories can be achieved.
