About Mr Raw:
Mr Raw, born Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje on November 1, 1974, in Enugu, Nigeria, is a pioneering Nigerian rapper and songwriter, widely recognized as a trailblazer in Igbo rap. Formerly known by his stage name Dat Nigga Raw, he gained prominence in the early 2000s by rapping in Igbo language and Pidgin English, delivering authentic Nigerian street narratives and cultural stories through his music.

Mr Raw’s debut studio album, Right & Wrong (2005), introduced him as a powerful voice in African hip-hop, followed by Everything Remains Raw (2007) and End of Discussion (2010). The latter album featured the hit track “O! Chukwu,” whose music video won Best Afro Hip-Hop Video at the NMVA Awards, solidifying his reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading hip-hop artists. He later rebranded as Mr Raw to avoid censorship issues associated with his former stage name and to expand his international reach.

Throughout his career, Mr Raw has collaborated with top Nigerian artists such as Flavour N’abania, Duncan Mighty, Phyno, Illbliss, 2Face, M-Josh, Hype MC, BosaLin, and Slowdog, creating some of the most influential tracks in African hip-hop. His music blends energetic flows, street authenticity, and culturally rich storytelling, appealing to fans of Igbo rap, Nigerian hip-hop, and Afrobeat-inspired urban music.
