As I always tell you, one of the interesting characteristics of flamenco is that rhytmically a lot of different things happen at the same time, things that don't work in the same way but that combined together form a new whole with a specific feel.
And this is the case here with this small rhythmic pattern that is very common in music in general and in flamenco and that is called "3 against 2" or "3 over 2" or just "3:2".
This little pattern is much more interesting than it seems because it is the combination of two patterns that unfold at the same time, or "polyrhythm".

3 against/over 2: one part does three while the other does two
