most bluetooth speakers use some kind of a DSP(digital signal processor) system in order to prevent distortion at high levels
that creates a huge difference dynamic wise between different vol levels.
every speaker has its own sweet spot which from my tests of different speakers is usually between 60-80% vol level.
that sometimes heavy processing creates a reduction of bass and an increase in mids and highs to prevent distortion, and comes out as
very compressed sounding.
this video demonstrates this effect
best advice is to find that sweet spot and not go up to eleven !!!
