One of my favourite Norfolk towers! Not only for the bells, but more for a former ringer and tower captain here - more on that later. St Mary the Virgin's church, with its typically tall tower, can be seen for a number of miles across the North Norfolk landscape. The church imposes somewhat on the village below, especially on the approach to the church from the North.
Northrepps is also, possibly, known for its airfield (and probably more so for its former airfield) 'Northrepps International Airport', which featured a caravan terminal and single short grass runway!
The bells themselves rang between the c1499 5th, and the two 1981 John Taylor & Co trebles. They are cast by Brend, Warners and Taylors and together they form a rather pleasant ring of eight. They go very well and apart from the springy ropes, and long tail-ends they really are rather nice to ring. The tenor rope is particularly low!
