The Hankyu 1000 Series operates on the Hankyu Kobe Main Line and Takarazuka Main Line, and are known for two particular features.
Firstly, it is powered by Toshiba PMSM traction control equipment which is almost identical to some refitted C151 PMSM trains (and in future, refurbished C651) operated by SMRT Trains. However, these Hankyu 1000 series units are capable of operating as fast as 130 km/h.
Secondly it uses a single wide LCD screen above the doors (also supplied by Toshiba), better than the STARiS 2.0 units. It provides a useful alternative format of displaying information as compared to what SMRT Trains does.
All Hankyu 1000 series trains were manufactured by Hitachi and were first introduced since 2010.
