Today Andy is grinding some of our Boone County white corn that we grew ourselves to make homemade chicken scratch. While he’s working outside, I’m in the kitchen making my mama’s famous chicken stew along with a loaf of sourdough bread.
Just good food, old ways, and making use of what we’ve worked hard to grow. These are the kinds of days that remind us why we love this life so much. Thanks for spending a little time with us today.
Mama's Chicken Stew
Approx 4-6lbs chicken
6 qts boiling water (for chicken)
1 stick of butter
4-6 cups milk
1-2 cups flour
salt and pepper to taste
