Lady Jane is a strange and mythical song by The Rolling Stones. The lyrics have an ancient flavor and the music harks back to Renaissance atmospheres, also thanks to the sound of the dulcimer and harpsichord, which we have rendered with guitar, mandolin, Celtic harp and glockenspiel.
The lyrics lend themself to different interpretations: the names of the three beloved women are in fact those of three of Henry VIII's loves (Jane Seymour, Anne and Mary Boleyn), but it actually seems that Mick Jagger wrote the lyrics after being fascinated by reading the Laurence's erotic novel “Lady Chatterley's Lover”.
