Sky News host Rita Panahi says the Victorian Liberal Party are a “long way away” from becoming a “serious party” after they claimed victory in the Warrandyte by-election.
“They’ve declared this a new dawn for the Victorian Liberals – however, let’s just cool our jets a little bit,” Ms Panahi said.
“Labor didn’t run a candidate … you can win comfortably if Labor don’t run in the race.
“If the Liberal Party were actually serious about challenging Dan Andrews, laying a glove on him occasionally, when someone of the calibre of John Roskam puts up his hand – you select him.
“They’re not a serious party; they’re a long way from being a serious party.
“Until they actually formulate some policies that give the electorate a choice, Victorians really go to the polls with very little to pick from.”
