Serb police reinforcements have poured into Kosovo by the busful amid fighting southwest of the provincial capital, Pristina.
The fighting killed two people and left others wounded or fleeing, reported ethnic Albanians.
France and Britain have said they would introduce a U-N Security Council resolution threatening new measures against the warring sides if they don't stop the fighting.
These are Serbs in Kosovo defending the town of Klina from attack by ethnic Albanians.
Foreign journalists were escorted to the area on Monday by Serb police.
Klina, some 45 kilometres (28 miles) west of the provincial capital, Pristina, is a Serb town surrounded by the Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army (K-L-A).
Fighting in this area killed at least two people on Monday and wounded several others, say Albanians.
The same day, armed Serb police reinforcements were being bused into the province.
Top-level international diplomacy continues to try and end the fighting in Kosovo.
That's probably little consolation to these Serbs -- many elderly -- who have fled to Klina from the surrounding area.
