Business Council of Australia CEO Jennifer Westacott says the Australian economy will grow faster by “unleashing the private sector” amid calls for the government to remove the “shackles” on investment.
“We know that capping prices doesn’t work – it deters investment,” Ms Westacott told Sky News Australia.
“You must get the engine on growth going because it’s growth that gives you wages, it’s growth that gives you a stronger budget position … better living standards.
“You need to encourage more people to work at their full potential.
“You don’t need to reinvent the system, you need to reinvigorate the system.”
