PM Narendra Modi met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in New Delhi on December 6. The two leaders held the 21st annual Russia-India summit in New Delhi. Modi and Putin discussed various defence, political, trade and geopolitical issues. Putin’s visit to India also comes at a time when New Delhi has forged closer ties with Washington. This was Putin’s second trip abroad since the Covid pandemic gripped the world in late 2019.
