📍 WHERE IS GOCTA WATERFALL LOCATED?

The Gocta Cataract (Catarata de Gocta) is located near the town of Cocachimba, in the Amazonas region of Peru, just a few hours from Chachapoyas. This incredible waterfall drops approximately 771 meters (2,530 feet) and is considered one of the tallest waterfalls on Earth. 🌧️

Discovered by the international community only in 2002 (despite being known by locals for centuries), this majestic waterfall has quickly become a bucket-list destination for eco-tourists, hikers, and adventurers from around the world.

🥾 THE HIKE TO GOCTA WATERFALL

To reach the base of the falls, you must complete a moderate hike of around 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) each way, starting from the village of Cocachimba. Along the way, you'll walk through lush jungle landscapes, cross small streams, and marvel at the Andes meeting the Amazon.
