On May 29, the Broken Arrow Police Department responded to a home in the 1200 Block of West Quincy Street for a parking violation, which upon arrival was determined to be a disturbance, and spoke to the vehicle’s owner.
An officer subsequently had a confrontation with a homeowner at the door, which ultimately resulted in an arrest inside the residence.
A routine report review alerted the Chain of Command which led to a further examination of the incident.
Following a review from the Chief’s Office of the conduct, the officer was placed on administrative leave, in accordance with department policy and the collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police.
Our Office of Professional Standards is conducting an internal investigation. Ultimately, the internal investigation will determine if the actions taken are in compliance with City of Broken Arrow policies and procedures.
The findings of the internal investigation will be forwarded to the Office of the Chief of Police and City Manager for review.
