Today: Australia Bans Social Media for Under 16!
We will do three things with this important news story.

Australia has banned anyone under the age of 16 from using social media.
“The law will make social media companies liable for fines of up to $50 million for failures to prevent children younger than 16 from having social media accounts.”
Social media companies “have one year to work out how they could implement the ban before penalties are enforced.”
“Platforms now have a social responsibility to ensure the safety of our kids is a priority,” said the Australian Prime Minister.
Supporters of the ban said that it will help protect children from online danger.
An opponent of the ban said, “The social media ban has been released and passed within a week and no one can explain how it will work.”
