The location of the factory engine oil drain plug on 2011-and-later Ford F-150 pickups causes oil to splash on the front sway bar and other chassis components during an oil change. Dorman’s OE FIX oil drain plug (part number 097-826HP) features a downward-facing drain hole to redirect the flow and prevent this problem.
Made of high-temp polymers like the factory drain plug, it’s fully compatible with the plastic oil pan used on these vehicles. It’s also easy to install by hand, and once installed requires only a twist with a screwdriver to open or close. This drain plug is a convenient way to change oil on other Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with modular V6 and V8 engines, even when interference with the sway bar isn’t as much of a concern.
