Описание: This video shows the action of a defective ALC circuit in a Kenwood TS-930S Amateur transceiver Signal Unit. The radio is placed in SEND mode, an oscilloscope connected to the output of the signal unit, and then the radio is turned on. At turn on, the RF output to the Power Amplifier is a full 3.5 volts P-P, but within a second it drops to only 0.5 volts as the ALC throttles it down. The ALC level control has no effect on this action. The cause turned out to be salt deposition of the foil side of the signal board due to salt in the air where the radio was used.
