Desert to the Plains — Pushing From New Mexico Into Oklahoma on This Fungicide Haul

Описание: Welcome back! We're LIVE for Day 2 of the Atticus Aquila XL fungicide haul — May 29, 2026, and today we're watching the landscape change dramatically as we push from the New Mexico desert toward the wide open plains of Oklahoma!

WHERE WE ARE:
We spent the night in Road Forks, New Mexico — a small community right near the Arizona/New Mexico state line in the boot heel region of the state. It's remote, rugged country out here, and this morning we're firing up the 2026 International LT625 and getting back after it.

ROUTE CHANGE:
We've adjusted our route from yesterday's plan. Instead of heading north toward I-40, we're staying on I-10 eastbound this morning and cutting northeast on US-70 through the southern New Mexico desert before picking up US-54 northbound — a great highway that carries us up through the heart of New Mexico and into the Texas and Oklahoma panhandle region. It's a more direct run and takes us through some beautiful and less-traveled country. The goal today is to push into Oklahoma on US-54 before shutting down for our 10-hour break tonight.

TODAY'S ROUTE: I-10 → US-70 → US-54

REMAINING TRIP ROUTE: US-54 → US-400 → I-35 → I-335 → I-70 → I-435 → US-169 → MO-116

THE LOAD:
Just a reminder for anyone joining us — we're hauling a load of Atticus Aquila XL agricultural fungicide in chemical totes, picked up yesterday at Desert Depot in Yuma, Arizona. Atticus Aquila XL is a broad-spectrum liquid fungicide used by farmers to protect crops like corn, soybeans, and wheat from disease. We're delivering it to Warehousing And More in Plattsburg, Missouri with a 9:00 AM appointment on June 1st.

US-54 is one of those underrated American highways that long haul truckers appreciate — it cuts a straight diagonal path from the New Mexico desert all the way through the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles, through wide open agricultural country that reminds you just how much of this country is working farmland.
