Professor Omer Barov argues that U.S. policy is the main factor that can quickly change Israeli politics and military actions. If the United States were to withdraw support and pressure Israel to stop the war, halt actions against Lebanon, and negotiate with Palestinians, it could lead to major political change inside Israel.
They claim internal Israeli forces alone are unlikely to shift policy, especially while the U.S. continues backing the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. However, if American support changed—particularly under Donald Trump—it could force Israel to alter its approach and potentially change its leadership.
