Domaine Tortochot comprises 12 hectares and is based in Gevrey-Chambertin, but they also have vines in Morey-St.-Denis. It’s run by Brigitte and Chantal Tortochot, the fourth generation of the family now making wine. Chantal handles the daily activities at the winery. When Chantal took over from her father, she set about converting the vineyards to organic and in 2013 received ECO certification.
Our team visited Domaine Tortochot during the harvest in September and spent a bit of time with Chantal, who guided us through the Domaine and her vineyard in Lavaux St.-Jacques. Then, two months later, in November, we returned to taste the 2018 vintage.
