We FINALLY drove up Old Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park - the original 1920 one-way dirt narrow and steep route to the Alpine Visitor Center at 12,000 feet elevation. We were extremely lucky to perfectly time the peak display of golden Aspen leaves in the Colorado high country. This was an AMAZING Colorado fall drive!
For those following along at home, this is now our FOURTH climb up to the Alpine Visitor Center in the almost-free Craiglist XC90 V8 - it is truly an amazing machine after all of the mechanical work summer 2025. I still cannot believe that we rushed out of our house drinking morning coffee in pursuit of a FREE vehicle listing on Craiglist - knowing that it would take a lot of work to make it road worthy.
