I saw someone posted a very nice curry dish in DHM, and from the comment it is actually using chicken peratal recipe added more water. So I googled chicken peratal recipe and try to make it.
I love to use my SOA Ceramic Claypot to cook.. they have induction friendly claypot so I do not need to purposely get a stove or ceramic cooker to cook using claypot. https://soaceramics.com/product-categ...

Marinate chicken
1/2 chicken cut into small size
4 tbsp chili powder
4 tbsp chicken curry powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp tumeric powder
1 tsp fennel powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp salt
*Marinate the chicken with the powdered spices for 15mins.
Chicken Peratal
Marinated 1/2 chicken
2-3 sprigs of curry leaves
1 cinnamon stick
3 star anise
4 pcs cardamon
2 tomato cut into small cubes
3 green chili (deseed)
1 onion slice
RM1 or 4tsp mix of garlic and ginger paste
2 potato cut into cubes
2 tbsp ghee
Water enough to cover the chicken
Sugar to taste
Coriander for garnishing
1. Melt ghee and add in cinnamon stick, star anise and cardamon. Saute till fragrant.
2. Add in garlic ginger paste, green chili and onion. Simmer for 3mins or till onion soften.
3. Add in chicken, potato and water to cover. Simmer 15mins.
4. Add in curry leaves and tomatoes as well as sugar to taste.
5. Simmer till sauce reduced.
6. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
Verdict: Not bad.. yummy to eat but confirm u will know it is a curry cook out of curry chicken powder.. haha..
