Six Leshyas Explained | How Passions Color the Soul | Pu. Gurudevshri Kanji Swami
From the profound pravachans of Gurudevshri Kanji Swami:
When Passions (Kashaay) arise, the soul becomes “coloured” by Raag and Dwesh. This creates subtle vibrations (Yog-Pravritti) within the soul — and this coloured state is called Leshya.
Through the powerful example of six men and a mango tree, Gurudev explains the six Leshyas — from the intensely impure Krishna Leshya (ready to uproot the tree) to the pure Shukla Leshya (waiting peacefully for ripe fruits to fall).
The first three Leshyas — Krishna, Neel, and Kapot — are impure and lead to Paap-Aasrav (influx of karmic bondage). They are not the soul’s true nature.
This discourse reveals how the intensity of our inner Parinaam shapes our bondage — and how subtle the science of Leshya truly is.
Deep philosophy. Practical insight.
