Sailing to an abandoned ghost town - can we survive the winter here? Report 10

Описание: We sail to the very remote (resettled) abandoned "outport" of Grand Bruit on the South coast of Newfoundland in January. There is nobody here... Nobody... There are a few dozen mostly intact homes - but nobody walking the boardwalks. The outport was hit hard by Hurricane Fiona last September and the place feels every bit as though the apocalypse had come or aliens suddenly abducted everyone. It's extraordinarily beautiful here and it's hard to believe that nobody lives here anymore. In Burgeo we met several former residents who adored this little hamlet (before resettlement) and we can see why! The backdrop of a gorgeous cascading waterfall and colorful homes overlooking the bay is incredibly inviting! We came with the intention of trying to spend the rest of winter here - adventuring, surviving, and enjoying a place very few people ever get to experience this time of year. However Mother Nature had other plans for us - something we were not entirely prepared for...
