Following the discussions, Iran allowed Indian oil and gas tankers to pass safely through the crucial maritime route even as restrictions remain for several Western vessels. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy corridors in the world, carrying around 20–25% of global seaborne oil and gas trade.

The development is significant for India’s energy security, as nearly half of India’s LNG imports depend on shipments through this route. The talks focused on ensuring uninterrupted supply amid escalating attacks on ships and energy facilities in the Gulf region.

With global oil prices surging and tensions rising, the diplomatic engagement between India and Iran has helped secure India’s energy supply chain during the ongoing crisis.
