Sometimes I want a simple but tasty way to add more nutrients to my meals, and these small, Omega3 Oat Topping Balls do the trick. Four ingredients in this recipe--walnuts, chia, hemp & flax seeds--are high in omega3 oils which are important in any diet, but especially for those eating whole food plant based. These balls are both tasty AND nutritious!
Omega 3 Oat Topping Balls
(2 servings)
Ingredients:
• 1/2-2/3 ripe banana, chopped
• 3 T. oats
• 2 t. chia seeds
• 2 t. hemp seeds
• 2 t. ground flax seeds
• 2 t. PB2 or cocoa powder
• 2 T. chopped walnuts
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients together in a small bowl and roll into small bite-size balls. Balls should stick together well; if they are too moist, add more oats (this depends on the size of the banana)
2. Chill or eat right away
3. Use as a topping for nice cream, fruit bowls, smoothie bowls, baked sweet potatoes, or eat as a snack
4. Refrigerate any unused balls for up to a week
