Tamiya MF-01X Build Guide Part 2 - Ford Escort Mk2 Rally Chassis Finished!

Описание: Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my build guide for the Tamiya MF-01X chassis. This is a generic chassis build so it doesn't matter what body you will be fitting, construction will be very similar. This MF01X will eventually become the fantastic Ford Escort MII Rally car, so we are building the long wheelbase (239mm) chassis with high ground clearance setting. In this Part 2, we cover steps 19 up to the completion of the chassis using Parts Bags C and D.

Most of the build is straightforward, but there are some areas that need special attention, such as the setting of the ride height and a problem I found with the rear suspension. I hope you enjoy the build and find some useful tips along the way.

Based around a tough monocoque frame with integrated gearboxes, this compact 4WD chassis gives a thrilling drive whether you take it on road or flat dirt surfaces. It features a rear-mounted motor, with gear-driven rear wheels and a propeller shaft taking power to the front. Both front and rear gearboxes have differential gears. The battery pack location in the chassis center secures excellent balance, while 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension employs friction dampers. Off-road capable M-05Ra chassis uprights and hub carriers, plus rally block tires are also included.
