More information:
This is a passion project of mine as I love the second Generation of Pokemon. GameBoy Color games have been a major part of my childhood and I wanted to do something fun with the soundtracks of various GameBoy games and the first on my list was Gold and Silver! The Gold and Silver soundtrack is insanely dynamic and beautiful to look at and you can really see how much work the makers of the game put into each track. Hope you enjoy watching/listening to this as much as I did making it! :)
What exactly are you looking at:
There is a lot going on in this visualizer and it can be kind of a lot to look at so I will break down the individual parts of it and explain what each part does and what you are seeing.
I stitched together the entire two hour soundtrack and separated the audio into Left and Right stereo and visualized both audio streams on their respective side of the screen. Ho-Oh's side represents the left headphone's audio and Lugia's side represents the right headphone's audio. For both of them you'll see the Bass as the big white blobs surrounding them both, the Middle as the slightly bigger blobs in front of the bass blobs (orange for Ho-Oh's side and blue for Lugia's) and the Treble as the sharp spikes in the very front of all the other blobs (yellow for Ho-Oh and blue w/ white outline for Lugia). The very center of the screen shows the Bass (at the bottom), Middle (in the middle duh), and the Treble (at the top) from both sides combined. At the bottom of the screen I have the audio levels for both sides of the Left and Right audio spectrum and on each side of the bottom I have the left and right audio signals being shown as their raw waveforms.
