Today, we’re making crispy, golden chicken schnitzel that’s perfectly juicy inside and crunchy outside! With a light, flavorful coating and an easy honey mustard sauce, this schnitzel is perfect for any meal. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
900g boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 ½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
3 large eggs
3 tbsp milk
2 ¼ cups breadcrumbs
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
1- Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets.
2- Place them between plastic wrap and pound gently with a meat mallet until about 0.5 cm thick.
3- Then cut each piece in half for even cooking.
4- Set up the breading station:
In the first bowl, mix flour with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
In the second bowl, whisk eggs with milk.
In the third bowl, place breadcrumbs.
5- Dredge each cutlet in the flour mixture, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
6- Rest the coated chicken for 10 minutes before frying.
7- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
8- Fry the schnitzels on each side until golden brown and crispy.
9- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve hot with honey mustard or your favorite sauce.
Honey Mustard Sauce
Ingredients:
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Instructions:
1- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, mustard, honey, lemon juice, and garlic powder.
2- Taste and adjust—if the mustard is too strong, add a bit more mayonnaise or honey.
3- Serve immediately or refrigerate for 15-30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
