Yormark used his platform to rebuke Bevacqua for "going after" the ACC, arguing that the CFP committee chair had been transparent that head-to-head results would be a factor as teams grew closer. He implied that both Notre Dame and BYU should have understood and accepted the committee's final logic that two losses (especially BYU's two lopsided losses to CFP-bound Texas Tech) were enough to leave them out.
