#TempleTravelerVlogger - MALAYANOOR YATHIRAI: History of Malayanoor Angalamma Temple. "Lord Shiva can be seen in the form of a statue whereas others exist in the form of Linga"-Bhoopathi priest.
Greetings from Angalamman temple, Malayanoor, and myself being the head priest here, the history of the temple talks about Lord Shiva and the way he attained salvation. Brahma and Shiva both had 5 heads each, one of Lord Brahma's heads was cut off by Lord Shiva which turned him into an aggressive person. When in contact with the cheeks and had no clue why he was not able to eat, had to enquire about it to Lord Vishnu and the latter replied by asking him to visit Malayanoor (aka Dhandakarunyam) which was also known as Malayaarasan Pattanam and to be relieved from this curse was supposed to visit Malayanoor, being Malayanoor's daughter. First Thiruvannamalai, Thayanoor then finally set the path in Malayanoor which was filled with flower gardens back then and in one such garden the deity Goddess gave darshan in the form of a snake. There was an anthill that was found which meant to be the living place of the deity Goddess, this is where the curse vanished and attained salvation. This is the reason why people come here to solve their basic problems related to money, peace, and happiness, the only place where Shiva (destroyer) and Shakthi (creator) exist. Lord Shiva can be seen in the form of a statue whereas others or exists in the form of Linga. There are many Skathi Peedams as many as 51 and Malayanoor is said to be the first and whatever is asked for will be granted, this place was filled with saints and henceforth more sacred. The saints have been laid to rest here and were cremated here, many of them rest here. This shakti peedam grants all the wishes asked by the devotees, no matter what it'll be solved at the earliest. The deity is being seen in the Mayanam (grave) the evil spirits will never affect us as long as being the devotees. This is the reason behind many devotees are seen here and many will be coming here as they are being lead by priests and astrologers telling them that their wishes will be granted. Many devotees visit this place during the New moon day, which is said to be a special day and that night they tend to stay here. Most of them don't prefer the darshan of God just make sure they reach the place and then their wishes will be granted. Fridays and Sundays, the Goddess will be decorated with silver ornaments and hence no abhishekam, other days abhishekam takes place. On Friday, Sunday and on new moon day the Goddess will be decorated with silver ornaments and gold ornaments, mostly silver, and the devotees will have a wonderful darshan.

Each of the 13-day-long car processions, each day will be unique and grandly decorated, being unique in their own ways. This is the back portion of the temple.

Mayana Kaali another form of the deity Goddess, everything related to the evil spirits can be seen here. The place where people burn the dead bodies, anything related to the evil spirits will be solved here making sure it's all fine. People complain and request to make sure it's all fine with the blessings of the deity Goddess and can trust by all means. The Trishul can be seen in the backdrop, anything wished for will be granted and will be a success. Sacrifices will be made on the Trishul. Pray for the good of everybody with no second thoughts to hurt others. Don't try to hurt others and their feelings. People offer lemonade to the Trishul requesting the deity Goddess to solve all their problems.
