The character arc of Mark Wylde is undeniably depressing. Originally starting off in the World Race as an aggressive but well-meaning fellow, Markie doesn't like his brother Kurt for all the times he's been sidelined by him, but still has enough heart at the end of the day to make sure Kurt is okay. Over the course of events before and during AcceleRacers, Markie's heart has grown so dark from Kurt's mistreatment of him that his bursts of self-pride stem from aggression and hatred, foundations that eventually push him away from the band of brothers that made up for the one he never seemingly had. The redemption of Markie glows with hope however as everyone can realize the power of second chances and relinquishing the past.
Happy Birthday, Will Sanderson! Thank you for protecting the Hot Wheels continuity through your 2005 reprisal of your character. Markie Wylde will forever be one of the cornerstones of the Hot Wheels universe, and hopefully enjoy one more reprisal ;)
