NUOVA VESPA 500 CHALLENGE – 2021 la Sfida Piaggio!

Piaggio nel 1972 presenta una nuova ammiraglia per la prima volta nella importante cilindrata di 200 cc. La Vespa, denominata Rally, incantò intere generazioni, essendo il mezzo a due ruote più sportivo e potente della casa di Pontedera. Nel video propongo una versione futuristica e più prestante del leggendario scooter Piaggio in un modello che ho denominato 500 Challenge. Con l’operazione di restyling su base Vespa ho cercato di non ignorare le caratteristiche dei modelli precedenti, anzi ho evidenziato ed accentuato le tipicità proprie delle versioni del passato. Il poderoso motore, discendente dal collaudato Piaggio X9 di 500 cc viene associato ad una ciclistica appropriata: ruote da 15 pollici, efficaci freni Brembo ed avantreno e scocca adeguati all’ aumentata potenza. Altri particolari evidenziano l’aspetto aggressivo e al tempo stesso affascinante del modello, come la colorazione beige chiaro della scocca che ricorda le tonalità pastello di un tempo. I toni scelti per vari particolari, quali cerchi, cornice fari e cuciture del sellino in pelle ed alcantara, danno al modello un’estetica attuale ed accattivante. Da notare il rigonfiamento della zona sottosella che dovrebbe lasciare posto ad un grosso ammortizzatore centrale posteriore ed i vani ricavati, anch’essi alla base sopra le pedane. Il concept ideato dovrebbe rappresentare, in assoluto, il modello più potente e veloce delle Vespa finora prodotte.

Vespa 500 Challenge Piaggio… dominant species! - Concept / Rendering and graphic processing by Tommaso D’Amico, architect, designer. Piaggio in 1972 presented a new flagship for the first time in the important 200 cc displacement. The Vespa, called Rally, enchanted entire generations, being the sportiest and most powerful two-wheeled vehicle of the Pontedera house. In the video I propose a futuristic and more powerful version of the legendary Piaggio scooter in a model that I have called the 500 Challenge. With the restyling operation on a Vespa basis, I tried not to ignore the characteristics of the previous models, on the contrary I highlighted and accentuated the typical characteristics of the versions of the past. The powerful engine, descending from the tried and tested 500 cc Piaggio X9, is associated with an appropriate chassis: 15-inch wheels, effective Brembo brakes and front end and body adapted to the increased power. Other details highlight the aggressive and at the same time fascinating appearance of the model, such as the light beige color of the body that recalls the pastel shades of the past. The tones chosen for various details, such as rims, headlight frames and saddle stitching in leather and alcantara, give the model a current and captivating aesthetic. Note the swelling of the underseat area which should give way to a large central rear shock absorber and the compartments obtained, also at the base above the footrests. The concept conceived should represent, by far, the most powerful and fastest model of the Vespas produced so far.
