Whenever in Helsinki it is worthwhile to go check out the Old Market Hall on the waters edge in the city.
Some of the best food and snacks in Helsinki can be found here.
Also, only 10 minutes away on tram, is the Hakaniemi Market Hall, which up till recently was located in temporary building in the Market Square, but after extensive renovations on the original historic building the markets are back home again.
This is the first time I have had a chance to visit these markets back in the original building, and this has to be on your list of "To Visit" places. Food, Arts, Crafts, everything is here.
It is significantly larger than the Old Market Hall in Helsinki City.
One good thing about both markets, is they each have a "Soup and More" location... The Salmon Soup they serve is amazing.
Both markets are conveniently located near major tram lines, so access is very easy.
