Here I present some of the most special pieces in my animatronic collection, it the my fully working set of both Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby all original 1985 models made by Worlds of Wonder!
I’ve always wanted to get hold of an original Teddy Ruxpin to repair and get the experience of working in one of these guys, I was fortunate to come across a good condition version for only £45! The best part was that he was practically fully working - he needed a few minor repairs such as a new spindle for the cassette player, new head bracket and the position sensor cleaning for the upper jaw and here he sits in perfect shape! I got Grubby recently too as an untested item but I was lucky enough to find a cord for very cheap and can confirm he’s working too which is a bonus! Most Grubby’s on eBay are marked as untested as they don’t have the cable but if they have a good conditioned battery compartment, and you have an original cable, he’ll likely work!
