Fionnuala Jay explains the details of the story that everyone is talking about on social media at the moment.
Johnny McMahon (Johnny Smacks) and Johnny O'Brien (Johnny B) told the story on their podcast (The 2 Johnnies) of how Johnny B was talking to a girl on Instagram who claimed to have mutual friends with him but for some reason, there was always some reason why they couldn't meet up.
After texting back and forth for a while, Johnny did some digging and asked the people who she claimed were her exes. They revealed that they had had similar experiences where they never met up. It turns out this person had catfished upwards of 40 people. Many famous GAA players were duped into believing this was a real person.
When telling an abbreviated version of this story at the 3 Arena, a woman in the crowd recognised a picture of herself as the picture the catfish had been using.
