Khadija BENDAM is head of nuclear and radiological safety and security audits at CNESTEN. She is an IAEA expert in EPR, she has on her credit more than 70 expert missions in the whole world. Vice-president of “Response and mitigation” working group; created as part of the “Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism”. She is WHO/REMPAN focal point in Morocco. Also she is WiN Global Board member and WiN Morocco president, Executive committee member, Awards committee chair; WINEPRI founder and Leader; WiN Africa Board member, and she is INSC vice chair.
Khadija Bendam is an accomplished environmental engineer and she has 2 more diplomas master degree in nuclear physics and master degree in Radiation Protection and the Safety of Radiation Sources. Since 2015, she has served as the head of nuclear/radiological safety and security audits at the National Center for Energy, Sciences, and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN) of Morocco. Prior to this role, from 2002 to 2015, Khadija was in charge of CNESTEN's emergency preparedness and response team.
She is a trailblazer in her field, being the first woman in the world to become the vice chair of the International Nuclear Society Council.
