Bad bearing FFT - Bearing Condition Monitoring - UE Systems

Описание: This is a video of an FFT spectrum view of a bad bearing. As a bearing enters the failure stage there is a rise in the decibel level of 12- 16 dB over a baseline. This rise in amplitude is usually accompanied by a change in the sound quality.

Note that on this bearing we can now observe fault frequency harmonics which we can use to confirm & analyze.

Ultrasound provides the earliest warning of bearing failure. It can be used to detect bearing failure on high and slow speed bearings, including as low as 1 RPM. Ultrasound can be used on all bearing speeds, even on extremely slow-speed bearings, and is simple to use. It provides the earliest detection of an unhealthy bearing, even before temperature and vibration increase. Using ultrasound, the decibel level (dB) reading is the best indicator of bearing health. Ultrasound tells you everything you need to know about the health of your bearings. This allows you to take corrective action before oncoming failure results in unexpected downtime.
