Sound test of the Adrian Sykes Electrograph from 1935.
Adrian Sykes was a British Inventor & held patents for Microphones which were used by the BBC as well as Hydrophones that were used by the British Navy to detect Submarines during WW1. Although the Electrograph was released some years after the production of cylinder records was at an end, The reproduction it is capable of is amazing & this example has survived to the present day with it's Original coil still working.
It is anyone's guess as to how many of these were produced & how many have survived. The Electrograph was built with a Bakelite (Urea Formaldehyde) casing & utilized the lower weighted section & Stylus arrangement from an Edison "Diamond" model B & C Mechanical Reproducer. .
