The Chief Constable of West Midlands Police has apologised to MPs after admitting he used artificial intelligence to give wrong evidence about banning Israeli football fans.
Craig Guildford says AI falsely produced details of a match that never happened — which was then used to justify stopping Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters from attending a game at Aston Villa.
Pressure is now growing on him to resign, with the Home Secretary set to make a statement to Parliament later today.
A government watchdog has already handed its findings to ministers.
