Built In 1954 and converted to an AEW.2 in 1971, converted back to original MR.2 configuration and repainted in her original 224 sqn markings. She is operated by the Shackleton Aviation Group, and has engine runs and is potentially airworthy.
First flown in March 1954 and by March 1989 had flown a total of 14,957 hours. Delivered to Coventry Airport on July 9th 1991at the end of its service career.
Powered by 4 x Rolls Royce Griffon 38 engines of 2,450hp 37 litre capacity driving 2 x 13 ft diameter propellers.

On the day of my visit the Number 1 Engine (port side) refused to play ball and refused to start, however the other 3 performed well to give out that Griffon Growl. #rollsroycegriffon #planespotting #WR963 #coventryairport
