It’s a classic winter workday at Château de Razac as progress continues on the north side of the 16th-century roof and demolition ramps up at Maison Violette.
🏰 Château Roof – North Side Progress
Materials go up and structure goes down as we push further along the roof. We install roof battens, prepare for tiles and Velux windows, and transfer tiles across the site ready for laying. With the help of a crane, we also capture some creative camera angles that show just how demanding this stage of the work can be — especially in winter conditions.
🏠 Maison Violette – Strip-Out & Preparation
Over at Maison Violette, we line up the tipper truck ready to clear debris. Inside, we continue kangoing out the walls in the living room, pull old nails from the roof battens, and remove the wood plank panelled ceiling in the bedroom. Everything is stripped back and ready for the materials to be removed and dumped, revealing the structure beneath and preparing the space for renovation.
This episode captures the reality of restoring historic buildings — heavy lifting, messy demolition, cold weather, and steady progress day by day.
