Описание: After a long hiatus, here we are back with some pedal demos!
This time on the floor the newly released (and already sold out...) Digital Bath by KHDK Electronics.
This pedal is a S&H filter sent into a vintage voiced delay, and was developed together with Chino Moreno of the Deftones to emulates the delay tones used on the White Pony's homonymous song.
Control array is very straight forward: Delay Mix and Delay Time, Filter Mix and Filter Speed, and a 3 position toggle for Filter Depth/Range.
Inside the pedal set and forget Feedback trim (that can go into some wonderful oscillations and comes from the factory already set with veeeeeery long repeats but without oscillations), and 2 switches to kill the dry signal in the delay and/or filter (very useful if you use the pedal in a mixer send/return, for example).
Yes... I got the pedal as I am a long time Deftones fan! But is it only band mojo and fanatics? I don't think so. If used in the right place and context Digital Bath can deliver some very cool textures! The Filter can also sometimes sweep into some random and very cool atonal bit crushed frequencies, and the delay feels and behaves like a good old analog device should do.
For some the internal set&forget trim pot for delay feedback may be a turn down, but I like like this features, and pushes to use the pedal as an effect of its own.
Also very nice touch: there's a gate after the Filter that will cut the filter output when not playing (so you hear only the delay's runaways, and gate threshold can be set with a trim inside the pedal, but found the stock setting to be already fine, for most use cases).

Verdict? Indeed, a very cool pedal for all the metal shoegazers and lofi experimentalists out there!
