This WONDERFUL performance of the Russian pianist Bella Davidovich is meant as a THANK YOU to the Grande Dame of the piano for the great musical beauty she gave to us !!! The clarity, phrasing, poetry, singing quality of her playing is absolutely exemplary ! This radio recording was given to me by the Dutch conductor Gerrit Schuil. He was delighted to be able to perform with such a great artist. With much dedication he and his Icelandic Orchestra accompanied her in this Beethoven pianoconcerto. Bella Davidovich was very pleased with his conducting, so she asked him: Who was your teacher ?
He answered: The Russian conductor Kondrashin ! She was delighted !
